A rally staged in the capital marked a show of solidarity with three members of feminist act Pussy Riot arrested by the Russian authorities for staging a protest song in an Orthodox church. The solidarity event was organised by Amnesty International and the 8 March Women’s Coalition. The gathering saw an artistic happening organised by TERAZ POLIŻ and a signature-collecting campaign for a petition to release the band members and to safeguard freedom of speech in Russia. The petition was forwarded to the Russian embassy on the same day. Similar events were held across the globe, including Paris, New York, London, Moscow, Madrid and Prague.
